McKay grew up in Mesa. He left to study economics at Brigham Young University, went on to Arizona State University Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, and spent time working alongside some of the most sophisticated estate planning practices in the country — serving founders, executives, and ultra-high-net-worth families whose plans involved the kind of complexity most attorneys never encounter.

What he brought back home was a conviction that took shape slowly over those years. The thoroughness. The real conversations. The sense that every client's situation deserved genuine thought regardless of the dollar amount involved. When he came back to Mesa — where he grew up, where his family has roots going back generations — he wanted to build something that brought that standard home. Not just for the wealthy. For everyone.

McKay's practice centers on estate planning and business law for Arizona families, business owners, and high-net-worth individuals. He works on revocable and irrevocable trust structures, powers of attorney and healthcare directives, business succession planning, entity formation, QSBS planning, asset protection, and estate and charitable tax strategies.

Before starting Mesa Estate Planning, McKay worked at McCullough Law, where his work spanned complex trust structures, multi-generational estate planning, and business transactions for clients at the highest levels of wealth. That experience shapes how he approaches every client — with the same rigor and attention to detail, regardless of the size of the estate.
